I usually enjoy contemporary lit but this was too boring. Too similar to real life where there is struggle, strife, and failure. Too mundane with unlikeable characters who I didn't care about. Thr ughout the whole book as I read all these anecdotes on the character that weren't related to the present tense, I kept asking myself "why do I need to know this?" I would've DNF'd this, but my curiosity on whether the character will learn some big important life lesson or something. Nope, in the end there's no lesson, no change, just more surviving through life (her boring life).
