Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
4.0
I enjoyed this book a great deal, as a fun return to fantasy reading. The characters were likable and the story an interesting one, while the writing was skilled and the world-building unique. One of my favorite things was that Violet’s physical disability isn’t just magically fixed or that she trains it away. Yes, she does get stronger and better able to deal with fighting or riding, but I appreciated that it is still there and must be accommodated, and that there’s nothing wrong with that, even in a very dog-eat-dog setting. I will say that it was fairly predictable, mostly because it very much harkens to books like Divergent, but sub in magic and dragons for dystopia, plus add in some more spice in the romance.
