3.5

With a typical premise, Tokyo Ghoul grabs readers' interest through its keen interest in the protagonist's struggling experience. A circumstance that tears him between two worlds, Sui Ishida injects engaging drama in what lesser works would lead to a dramatic drought. In its climactic peaks and eye-opening revelations, it whets the appetite of its targeted audience. However, even so, outside-of-target readers would also find identification with the lead character, thus holding their interest. With its points of curiosity, I was instilled with a desire to continue forward. I can only hope for greater things to come.
