I've never written a review before, mostly why this is in English. This is more or less a shot in the dark. দুরধ্যয় is a story of pain and struggle. It's the reality for many, maybe even someone close to you.
The author's seamless way of weaving words will make you want to keep reading, but the book's instances might make you want to throw it out of your window. The only complaint I have is I wanted more. Thus it missed the last star.
It may sound cruel, but I wanted to know the protagonists' struggles in more detail. I wanted to read how exactly they got the ending they did. I wanted it shoved down my face, how we dehumanize people simply for existing, how we make them question their worth because of the stupid, confined boxes we have created. But in a place like my homeland, that comes with a cost, which is often, the author's life.
Despite that, I am so very grateful to have come across queer representation in my mother tongue. I smile every time I think about it throughout my day.
