Going into this book I was nervous I wouldn’t like the Alice chapters because I was so excited to get more of Clara and Sugarplum but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself just as excited for her chapters (honestly thanks to the cat).

This book was everything I wanted it to be when it came to Clara and Sugarplum. I remember at the end of the first book all I wanted was to get more of them so this was amazing. Learning what had happened to him during his time in the Unseelie kingdom was heartbreaking but I loved seeing him grow alongside Clara in throughout the book.

At first, I found Alice to be a little annoying but the more I read of her the more I loved her and her dynamics between the cat and rabbit. I know in the next book there is going to be recognizable characters so I’m hoping that we learn what happened with Louisa and the prince in this one and that the cat comes back. I love that the fact that Alice was the rabbit captive was acknowledged as that wouldn’t be a good foundation for a relationship but I can’t help but hope that she finds the cat again in the next book and is able to build something with him as all he really wanted was a cherishing relationship with her.
