Worst in Show by Anna E. Collins
4.0
I had to say goodbye to my elderly dog when I was halfway through this book. I thought I’d have to DNF, but it was just so sweet and funny that it really helped me get through the difficult time.
Worst In Show was so much fun. I am always here for a pet-related romcom, the cuter the better, and Anna Collins didn’t disappoint.
This one is You’ve Got Mail / Shop Around the Corner but with dogs. I really liked both protagonists. Leo (owner of the evil big box pet store) is driven but caring, and Cora (who manages a small shop for her injured grandpa) is compassionate and kind of a mess.
The dogs, of course, are the true main characters: Leo has a purebred and Cora three rescue mutts. The side characters were also wonderful. I particularly loved Cora’s relationship with her grandpa.
The plot with the dog talent contest was all a little silly but I didn’t care, it was so much fun to read.
I highly recommended this one for dog lovers who want a light and fun romcom.
Thank you to Netgalley and Grand Central Publishing for my review copy of this book.
