Brunch At Ruby's by DL White
5.0
Renee, Debra, and Max have been friends since elementary school.
Renee is the dependable friend who puts everyone else's needs before her own. She leaves Decatur, Georgia and soon as she can and establishes a life in Philly with a man she is in love with. One phone call disrupts everything, and now her life consists of taking care of her father who has early onset Alzheimer's, and running her deceased mother's bookstore. The love of her life, or so it seems, back in Philly and he's moved on...or has he?
Debra is married to her high school sweetheart, has a nice home, a beautiful daughter, and a great job as principal of Morningside Middle School, which her daughter also attends. But 20 years of being married to the same man who works long hours and barely pays attention to her anymore, lands her in a steamy love affair with a much younger--and very handsome and well-built--athletic director. He's everything her life is missing, or is he?
Maxine grew up poor but turned her life around after high school by getting her real estate license and becoming a luxury real estate mogul with her own agency. She's drop-dead gorgeous and has her pick of men, she has a luxury condo, her own real estate firm complete with an insufferable and very stylish assistant and a team of agents who work for her, and a white Maserati. She only believes in dating men who make at least as much money as she does. She's got it all...or does she?
Their worlds are flipped upside down as they all deal with the day-to-day drama of their lives; which includes Max and Renee who fight over a handsome eligible bachelor named Malcolm; a slighted love interest named Joseph who thought he was Max's man; and Debra fighting for her career and her marriage.
Can they all get their stuff together before they lose each other and the people who mean the most to them?
Well, you just have to read Brunch at Ruby's to find out. This book had me rolling my eyes, laughing, and crying...sometimes all at the same time!
A delicious romance with all the feels!
