Goes deeper, if possible, into the main characters lives and motivations. The prologue giving a glimpse into the ending was really satisfying to that part of a person who just can't wait. We knew what happened, but only had to figure out the hows and whys. Superb plot, characters, and action. It's a miniscule amount less noir-y than the first, but that's okay. It means its growing out of a box and into its own.
