The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Mild spoilers ahead
I might pick this up again because I do hate not finishing a book. For this one however, I might make an exception. It was very disappointing, the plot felt soo... forced? I don't know how to explain it properly but when reading I just kept thinking to myself "is this necessary?" Did this whole saving a kidnapped Toby from someone from Tobias's past have to happen? I guess what I'm trying to say is that I wish the author wrote a different plot.
Eve was incredibly annoying and I wanted to violently shake Gray whenever he defended her from the others. I've grown more and more irritated with Max each time she said "fax" and those other made up curse words. It's so corny and she served no other purpose. The rest of the characters were fine I guess, still left much to be desired. I did like that we got a bit more of Xander and Nash in this book compared to the previous one, considering I've always found them more interesting and likeable than Jameson and Grayson.
Speaking about J&G, let's talk about my favorite aspect of this book: the love triangle
