Vincent was the highlight of the book, I empathized with his struggles as a vampire in a society that’s hostile to them and with depression. The exploration of how vampires are treated as a marginalized group was interesting, they struggle with finding jobs, housing etc. He’s a compelling character! I had a harder time connecting with Wes, I found him mostly unlikeable and a little selfish. I didn’t feel any romantic chemistry between Vincent and Wes, and their relationship’s development relies heavily on miscommunication which I don’t like. The investigation and its resolution were wonky. It’s a bit of a disappointing read, but I did enjoy the narrator though, I was impressed with how he switched between two different voices for each POV!
