Une romantasy que j'ai dévoré !

Après avoir lu les deux premiers tomes de the Ever Seas, j'ai réalisé que la série était un spin-off et qu'on avait l'histoire des parents de Livia ! Du coup, je n'ai pas pu résister =)

Ce que j'ai particulièrement aimé :

- l'univers ! J'ai adoré découvrir cet univers qui a des touches de culture scandinave, le système de magie très mystérieux et tout le système de servage ainsi que le passé du pays ! J'ai adoré tous ces détails !

- l'intrigue qui était passionnante ! Les Agitateurs qui tentent de renverser le pouvoir, le futur mariage d'Elise, tous les secrets de Legion (OMG ET QUELS SECRETS !) ... J'ai été complétement absorbé par l'histoire !

- les personnages !! J'ai beaucoup aimé les personnages principaux comme les personnages secondaires qui étaient très attachants mais surtout qu'on voit évoluer au fil des pages ! J'ai adoré Elise qui est coincée dans une position intenable mais qui reste très courageuse et fidèle à ses convictions ! Et bien sûr Legion qui est délicieusement mystérieux et sexy (on est dans une romantasy xD) mais j'ai aussi adoré la façon dont il traite Elise comme une égale, même ouvertement !

- la romance !! Rien de graphique ici mais la tension est PFIOULALA (la scène dans l'ancienne école =D) et j'ai adoré la façon dont peu à peu leur histoire se construit (malgré les mensonges, les secrets et les malentendus !)
(ça pourrait faire penser à certains au couple de la série Blood and Ash de J. L. Armentrout mais ici j'ai trouvé la relation bien plus équilibrée et les secrets que Legion garde sont plus "justifiés")

- CETTE FIN ... J'avais un peu envie de tuer "Legion" xD
(je m'attendais aux révélations comme j'ai lu the Ever Seas avant mais j'ai quand même adoré !)

Bref, le premier tome d'une série de romantasy que j'ai lu avec beaucoup de plaisir !

A romantasy that I devoured !

After reading the first two books of the Ever Seas series, I realized that the series was a spin-off and that we had the story of Livia's parents ! So, I couldn't resist =)

What I particularly liked :

- the universe ! I loved discovering this universe which has touches of Scandinavian culture, the very mysterious magic system and the whole system of serfdom as well as the country's past ! I loved all these details !

- the plot which was fascinating ! The Agitators trying to overthrow the power, Elise's future marriage, all the secrets of Legion (OMG THE SECRETS !) ... I was completely absorbed by the story !

- the characters !! I really liked the main characters and the secondary characters who were very endearing but above all who we see evolve over the pages ! I loved Elise who is stuck in an untenable position but who remains very courageous and true to her convictions ! And of course Legion which is deliciously mysterious and sexy (we're in a romantasy xD) but I also loved the way he treats Elise as an equal, even openly !

- the romance !! Nothing graphic here but the tension is PFIOULALA (the scene in the old school =D) and I loved the way their story is gradually built (despite the lies, secrets and misunderstandings !)
(this might remind some of the couple in the series Blood and Ash by J. L. Armentrout but here I found the relationship much more balanced and the secrets that Legion keeps are more "justified")

- THIS END ... I kind of wanted to kill "Legion" xD
(I was expecting revelations as I read The Ever Seas before but I still loved it !)

In short, the first book of a series of romantasy that I read with great pleasure !
