Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee
5.0
A very fitting end to one of my new favorite fantasy series.
I've had a blast living in Kekon over the past week or two. Complex characters, a tight and driving plot, more intrigue than I really knew what to do with... Just a really fun read.
I will say that I'm not usually one to run towards "modern" fantasy settings. I like my dragons and gryphons and undead armies a whole bunch. But this series is remarkable in blending a more modern setting with a well thought out magic system, and enough culture and character to feel as magical and alien as any of the more detailed fantasy worlds out there.
Really a remarkable series.
And this book does an excellent job of tying up the entire narrative. I'm a little shocked and saddened that the saga has ended. But I'm also extremely satisfied with its conclusion.
