One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid

3.0

Unfortunately not my favourite from TJR but I'm still glad to have read this one from her backlist.
It sounds silly but I just don't know how realistic or believable Jesse's situation is and I couldn't really let it go, I kept fixating on it. I know it is fiction but it's just such a bizarre situation to comprehend and the confusion it creates for Emma was so intense. I'm just gutted by some of the decisions Emma made towards the end. The main fault is I don't feel like she was loyal, I wanted her to make a clear choice but it felt unsatisfying.
This was a pretty quick read for me, it was a difficult one to put down that's for sure! From reading this I can definitely see an improvement in TJR's writing and character studies, they feel so much more real in her more recent books.
