The plot is simple, but this story is about the complicated relationships between parents and children, including the children who are not wanted by parents, and the parents who can’t have the children they want, and the people who become surrogate parents to the parentless children, and the children who become parents to their own parents in the end.
Minor: Child abuse, Cursing, Infertility, Infidelity, Sexual assault, Sexual content, and Suicide
Includes references to abortion, suicide, teenage alcohol and drug use, sexual abuse of a child, and difficulty conceiving. All of these are addressed sensitively, not graphic or sensationalized. Infidelity is a significant plot point, but the sexual experiences are not graphically depicted.
