Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
5.0
Rating this 5 stars purely because it is so much fun. It was funny, sweet, cute, romantic, and a little sad - all in one book. I love all of the characters, so much so that I don't care how unrealistic it is. I don't think I've ever shipped two people more than Alex and Henry.
Do I think it lived up to the hype? No, of course not. In fact, I don't think any book can live up to the hype that this book got. But I enjoyed myself so, so much while reading this, and I think that's enough to warrant 5 stars.
(Also, side note: if you thought the politics were unrealistic, that's kind of the point. It's supposed to be an optimistic, escapist alternate world in which the US actually elects a female president - twice.)
