After reading the unabridged Amazon Classics Edition of Dracula, this book felt like a break. The language used flows very well. Comfortably. It feels very vernacular, and is in stark contrast to the unfamiliarly traditional, literary, and downright heavy kind of language seen in Dracula - of which I am a fan as well, mind, but it can get a little too heavy. This felt like a breath of fresh air.

The story itself is good. It features monsters, but is more about the people than the monsters. About them and their lives spent surviving. Time to watch the movie.
