The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz

5.0

One of the best novels I've read in a long time. It's a witty, smart, engaging story - and postmodern in the best sense of the word. The story moves from funny to heart wrenching. The characters are engaging and unique. What's especially wonderful is the way Diaz weaves in the history of the Dominican Republic through the backstories of Oscar and his relatives. Really brilliant novel.
