As a heads up for other readers, the "traumatic experience" referenced in the blurb of this book is the attempted murder of a nonbinary teen; this isn't a spoiler as it's revealed in the first chapter.

Combined with other more superficial elements impacting my reading experience, this novel unfortunately isn't for me.
