The Odyssey by Homer

4.0

I am glad I read this, though I can't say that I loved it. I confess to liking [b:Njal's Saga|103104|Njal's Saga|Anonymous|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1369097748s/103104.jpg|1982703], which is pretty much all about the humans, no weird and inconsistently-drawn Gods monkeying around, a lot more than this epic. But of course it's foundational and, unlike some critics, I can't get the line "Dawn appeared, fresh and rosy-fingered" out of my head. One can find the root of an awful lot of western narrative here.
