The Love Con by Seressia Glass

I love that it was a cosplay storyline with a black fat main character. However, I will say there felt like there was a lot happening and nothing happening which usually is the case when I read books that have a reality show plot.

There was the ex-girlfriend who was annoying, and there was the main judge Rebecca, who was also super irritating and frustrating. However, both of them made a lot of sense overall, especially in relation to Kenya’s background. I will say the conflict with her parents made less sense
with the way that it was resolved with a quick phone call. I think I definitely can relate to parents being hard on you and having to push back but when reading it, and just hearing her almost break up with Cam and then on a quick phone call, Cam tells her parents to back off and they’re like “OK fine” was not as well executed as I would’ve hoped.
