The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson

informative reflective

2.0

The opening reads like a drunk guy at a party who studied abroad for a semester and is now trying to sell Eastern ideologies as his own to impress a woman who is sending so many signals that she's not interested.

The rest of it is concepts and psychology studies that are repackaged to fit within the vibe he built for us in the beginning. Due to that, I can't say that I wholly disagree with what was said overall, but I will be damned if I enjoyed any bit of how he said it.

To be fair, he makes his intended audience clear through his word choices, and can I really fault the guy if I am not within that audience? Perhaps not. But I'm not required to factor that in to how I rate this book either.
