Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

5.0

A lovely, gentle book about grief, premature loss, loneliness, and the hope of late second chances. Using the short lifespan of the highly intelligent octopus as a metaphor for the fragility of life and connection in general is a stroke of genius. I love Marcellus, I love Tova, I love Ethan... this book makes me love everyone.

If I was going to nit-pick, I guess I would say that the coincidences in this book probably go too far beyond the reasonable too many times, but given the kind of optimistic feel good vibes the book is going for, I'm more than happy to forgive. I loved this book.
