Alpha's Sacrifice by Nora Phoenix
4.0
This was great! I had this in my TBR for some time because I had high expectations and I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. This is mostly an introductory book to the background plot and the relationships, it's very clear after that cliffhanger ending, damm it I was waiting for that scene through the entire book only for it to be cut off!
About the plot, it centers on a beta-omega couple at first, the omega is having intense heats that are damaging his health and the beta is trying everything to save his partner. Enter two alphas, one is a doctor and the other a cop. Both get involved with the couple in different ways.
I started this knowing it was MMMM and that it had different dynamics. My personal preference will always be alpha/omega or omega/omega in any omegaverse story. However, here I totally fell for the beta/omega couple, they were adorable and I loved their codependency. I'm not into alpha/alpha or alpha/beta so I skimmed through their scenes, but when all of them come together in a foursome? Hell yes, I'm in.
The relationship between Vieno, Lidon and Palani was exciting. Both of them wanting the same guy, but also having a thing with Enar? I lived for drama. I also loved the moment of realization that all four belong together.
The background plot about effective suppresants and birth control being forbidden to omegas as well as the gene making them vulnerable to abuse was devastating and an intriguing addition to such a fucked up world. I hope the next book explores more around those topics without rushing it.
