The Sandman Vol. 4: Season of Mists by Neil Gaiman

5.0

The pace picks back up after a volume of diverse one-shot comics set in the Sandman universe. In Season of Mists we have an engrossing, coherent arc that feels epic in scale, as Dream needs something from Lucifer and has to go to Hell to get it. I also really enjoyed the art this volume, and a couple of particular panels really grabbed my attention, particularly featuring Heaven's angels. Neil Gaiman really gets to share his love for various mythologies in this arc and it's truly delightful.
