Barbarian Alien by Ruby Dixon
2.0
2/5
Well, I think this was better than the first book, but I still wouldn't say I'm a fan of this series...
I appreciate that there was somewhat of a plot here, but Ruby Dixon just full-on gave up on the sci-fi aspects in this instalment. I guess because we already know the gist of what we/the girls need to know in order to survive on this 'Not Hoth' planet?? Maybe??
Liz as a character I found appealing in theory, but annoying in reality. I was SO annoyed by her personality, and some of the phrases/slang she used made me shudder while I read them. She called sperm/ejaculate/cum 'baby batter' (excuse me while I GAG), I hated how often she used the word 'jerk' to describe the aliens (like... could you be a bit more inventive?), and some of the 'sexy' phrases were, to ME, anything BUT. Liz came across as 'rough and tough' but mostly rough because UGH did she get on my nerves.
I didn't read the extra bonus epilogues (yes, PLURAL...) in my special edition version that I borrowed from work because I didn't really care, to be honest lol.
Can't wait to chat about this one with Nikki and Tilly! :)
