The Possession of Natalie Glasgow by Hailey Piper, Hailey Piper

For the most part, this book is pretty mid in terms of its story and possession horror elements. There's definitely some inspiration from The Exorcist, but it's not necessarily a story that stands out to me. The audiobook narrator's voice hardly ever switched from a monotone, which reduced the tension in some scenes.

That being said, the cause of the possession is one I've never encountered before.
The commentary on needless violence against animals and the tragedy of a mother in the savannah losing her babies to hunters raised my enthusiasm for this book toward the end.
