The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma

I absolutely loved this book!

It had an aura of mystery and darkness around it from the very first page. The story was slightly slow to build up and I almost left this book alone. But even when I was wishing the story would speed up I just couldn't leave the book alone because I was so hooked!
I swear there was some dark magic here, my eyes refused to stop reading, so much so that it became creepy...

I love how it unfolded layer after layer, giving us a very deep and thorough insight into the characters that were built up so fantastically. I absolutely loved Ori- I mean who could not? On the dance floor she was a dream and otherwise she was such a gentle and kind soul, my heart ached at the unfair treatment she got. Not gonna lie, I cried. I'm only human.

Violet is such a complicated character and you go from finding her kinda nice to maybe irritating and then pitying her before developing an intense dislike or even hate and it's just all so beautiful. Throughout the book we are able to see the working of the minds of the girls, the psychological aspect of the story which is what drew me in the most.

The plot is unbelievably crazy and intriguing and you just can't be sure of what happens next! The ending left me shocked and I had to get some time to soak it all in but the thing is, it all made sense and I was so freaking happy with it. The ending was bits of paranormal mixed into contemporary and my favourite characters finally get justice so I was really giddy.

Finishing this book left me with a happy feeling and also the though 'oh my god what did I just read this was freaking brilliant'.

A must read for all mystery-thriller fans, especially if you love psychological thrillers like I do!
Okay now I'm just gonna go check out this amazing author's mind blowing books <3
