This was billed as a quirky coming of age tale but read as a YA dark fantasy romance. I might have enjoyed it more if I had know what it was going in, but I kept waiting for it to be something it wasn’t. As a romantasy it’s a decent foray although a bit convoluted with not enough back story and too many characters. It did not keep my interest.
