Deadman's Blood by

5.0

Deadman’s Blood is the fifth and final installment in Tolles Blood Series. Tolles does a fantastic job expanding on all of the characters in the book so reader feels like they are all stars. Devon, Darby, Blake, and Rowan are the main character in all of the books leading up to this one but in this book they take a bit of a back seat after the first third of the book to let the others who have joined the family along the way really shine. And they stood up to the challenge.

Again, picking up where book four leaves us, Tolles keeps the arc moving flawlessly into the next mystery. While the goings on in the States are worrisome and dark we go to Ireland with Darby and Devon and are given a story within a story that is a really fun, colorful read. But before long the entire family is back in the same part of the world, fighting the same fight that we expect to see from this motley crew.

Darby and Devon’s time in Ireland would have been very enjoyable if written as a novella to be read between book four and five. So much could have been expanded upon given the space.

In the end, all of the characters are wrapped up very nicely with a little bow and while I have grown attached to this family, I feel I really do know where the rest of their lives will take them.

I recommend this book to any reader over the age of 15. And I give it 5 stars!
