You already know I gobbled this up. A city girl moves to the small town of Rolling Hills to make a new start for herself. She meets the getting a divorced, single father, with a crazy ex. Does this sound familiar? While Wes and Betsy’s is a slow burn, mine was not… 😂
I loved the relationship Betsy had with not just the kids (and same, I want to be Emerson when I grow up), but Wes’s mom. Literally I want to be Peggy. She just knows. And the relationship that Wes grew up watching between his mom and dad, is what I want.
There were a lot of similarities between Wes and Betsy’s relationship, with my husbands and mine. The trauma of past relationships follows into the next, and unless there is communication and trust, it just won’t work. Chelle does an amazing job making these relationships and characters real.
I can’t wait to read Oliver’s story.
