I’m enjoying the series so far. I really loved book one. The creatures are interesting. Their powers are fun. The plot and tension is engaging. Quite a bit of quality spice. I’m having trouble putting my finger on why I can’t rate this second book higher. Maybe a little bit of middle book syndrome. The plot moves quickly. Things I predicted would happen later in the series happened more quickly than I anticipated to make room for the next plot point, which is a positive thing. I’m definitely curious to see what happens to these characters next! Even though I’m not a fan of the trope used to end the book.
