Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
3.0
The plot and characters were rather interesting, though the book did drag at times. The prose was unexpectedly flowery, sometimes managing to be extremely effective and evocative, other times was practically incomprehensible. However, the main problem I have is the world itself. It felt so flimsy, the idea that somehow technology means the absolute end of books. As someone who reads the majority of my books online via my library, I think that technology has done wonders for the accessibility of books and knowledge. The themes of censorship and propaganda were significantly stronger (and unfortunately, less prevalent), in my opinion.
