Woo first 5 ⭐️ read of the year!
What an absolutely luscious and atmospheric book. The world building, lore, and mystery were all excellently done. When I first read the book synopsis, I thought “oh forced marriage, enemies to lovers, Fae” all the things I love. This book was SO much more. The plot and the pacing and the conflict had me squirming in that “one more page” kind of way.
I will say, I would not call this a romantasy. This is an epic fantasy full of complex characters, deep world building, and a plot I cannot wait for book 2 for. I went into it expecting the classic “we’re mortal enemies but he’s so beautiful and I’m falling for him against my better judgement.” But this story is so much more layered and beautifully crafted than that. Thank god the next book is out soon!
