The Things We Break by Melissa Naatz
3.0
- Childhood friends to lovers
- Second Chance
- Traumatic Pasts
- Found Family
**Please check the content warnings before starting as this book covers some heavy and sensitive subjects. Also in my opinion the author needs to add cheating to the list of content warnings**
This book was such an emotional roller coaster and I am honestly not sure how I feel about it.
I could not myself to cheer for the couple. I absolutely felt for both Tristan and Evan. And I was rooting for them separately as they both had such traumatic childhoods, but they were so incredibly toxic for one another. And honestly, maybe it’s because we did not get Tristan’s POV, but I do not believe he loved Evan, not in the way that she deserved to be loved. I ended up not being fan of how the story ended. I can empathize and understand it, but I was hoping for a different outcome.
Thank you to the author and The Nerd Fam for the eARC.
