Baloney by Pascal Blanchet, Pascal Blanchet

4.0

Pascal Blanchet's art never disappoints. Told in shades of black and red, with an accompanying symphonic playlist, Baloney is a bit of an absurd story, but in a way that many operas are. Likewise it is tragic, expansive, and inviting. Even if you don't listen to the playlist of selections from Shostakovich, Prokofiev and more, Blanchet provides instrumentation in words like: "Bass for gravity, flute for wind, vibraphone for mystery and snow" that call music to mind while you're reading.
