The way this woman weaves words. The way she writes these love letters to fat women, to Black women, to the Diaspora, to the queer community and disguises them as books, is a gift. I always feel a deep sense of pride and a well of emotion after every A.H. Cunningham story I have had the pleasure of reading (which is all of them). Out of Office is just as passionate, fun, culturally rich, and written with the care I have come to expect from her work. Gen was so real and relatable. I was rooting for her from start to finish. Adrián is top tier book boyfriend material he was so attentive, patient, and perfect. I enjoyed the pace of the story, it has natural breaks that allowed you to take your time and savor the story. The writing was beautifully descriptive and clean. The chemistry between the characters was palpable and made my heart race. This had more humor than other works by the author and as an ultra fan I am encouraged by the continued growth in her work!
