The Golden Age, Book 1 by Roxanne Moreil

4.0

Roxanne Moreil’s tale of medieval intrigue revolves around Princess Tilda, set to take the throne after her father’s death but thwarted by her younger brother. Her journey through her stricken countryside explores social themes of revolution, oppression and utopia. Cyril Pedrosa’s vivid art is both stunning and a bit frustrating in how maximalist it is even when it makes the story a bit hard to follow. Still I plan to read volume 2 if only just to take it in.
