Gah!! There are no words to describe how much I adore slow burn romances – the push and pull, the anticipation of something that will rock their worlds – but it needs to be written EXACTLY right and that’s why I adored No Whisk No Reward!
Sophie Copeland is not really running away from the disaster of losing her nerves while appearing on a reality TV Show “No Whisk No Reward”. The result? Everyone at work, a prestigious restaurant ended up doubting her skills, and when she couldn’t take it anymore, she just ups and decides to move away from Seattle to Boston; where her college friend is remodelling her own bakery. Her bright idea is to do a cross country trip visiting some bakeries and pastry shop along the way; basically enjoying some solitude and reflection time about her life.

She is in the middle of Tennessee when she loses her sense of direction and almost crashes into another car along the way. Her only bright spot is that the truck she almost causes a crash with is driven by Joel, a rugged, almost grumpy and definitely silent type Southern man – who helps her find a place to stay for one night; which somehow ends up in a longer stay when she is hit with the news that her car needs more repairs and she needs more funds before she can resume her cross country trip.
Like I said at the start of the review; this is a slow burn romance – so if you think either Sophie or Joel’s connection to each other is as physical as you would expect from a romance; then you would definitely need to lower your expectations. BUT you should know that their connection; and romance is one that would give ALL the feels!
However, at the end of the book; there are a few lose ends that you might need to contend with; yet somehow they weren’t or at least shouldn’t be a deterrent to ya’ll enjoying this wonderful slow burn emotional romance with a whole lot of hilarious overtures!
