Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
2.0
So, I've been re-reading Twilight after 10 years and I'm just so happy that I'm finally done. I thought it'd be fun to relive my childhood memories but.. I would not recommend an actual adult re-reading this unless they want to ruin their memories. Last time around I rated it a 6/10.
To summarize the book: Edward and Bella finally get married, she gets the D she was so desperately begging for and then becomes a teen mom. She nearly dies (what a surprise), so Edward turns her into a vampire and then, to finish things off, her former side piece falls in love with her baby. How fun!
I remember disliking this book already when I first read it, but now it was almost unbearable to me. I didn't like how it was divided into multiple 'books' from different perspectives. I didn't care for Jacob's part at all and found myself skimming through it, just to get the idea of what was going on. Too many pages were filled with thoughts between the wolves.
I had SO many questions while reading this book: how does a vampire who's heart doesn't beat have sex? (No really, this shouldn't physically be possible?!) Why is he capable of impregnating Bella? Did Bella marry Edward just so they could have sex? Why are we okay with the whole imprinting thing? Is Bella just going to accept she made out with her future son-in-law?
Even though I enjoyed the idea of the book, I didn't enjoy the execution. Just like book 3, I feel like the pages could've been halved, maybe even less, if Stephenie just got to the point. It was cute though, reading about their happy ending, therefore I rate it a 4/10.
