The Will of the Many by James Islington

5.0

WOW. This book blew me away especially since I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. From the very first chapter, it lures you in with an immersive world and interesting worldbuilding. Roman-inspired high fantasy that really packs a punch. I need more info on Will and how it works? We got it, but I want MORE. Such an interesting magic system. It’s so fascinating and integral to the story.

I loved the Academy and all the parts afterwards. Like elite school vibes and you actually go through the day to day with the main character. Gave off a little dark academia vibes too. We have Vis who has such interesting inner voice and dialogue and I loved his interactions with people at the Academy. He was too good at stuff at times but I didn’t mind that. The best thing about the book was the conspiracy and mystery that unraveled. James has a way with building suspense and only giving you info you need to know for now.  And the ending???? I NEED BOOK 2 NOW.

Bonus: politics?! Scheming! I ate it up
