It’s hard to give an overall rating for this children’s book because there’s no images to go along with the words in the ARC. Its a fact that sometimes the images can help (and sometimes they can hurt). In this case, I think it could have helped because I had a difficult time keeping up with the subplots. The transitions weren’t smooth at all, which could have been due to the rhyming style. There were times the rhymes didn’t flow as smoothly as others. Certain ones stuck out like a sore thumb. On thing I will say is that the first 1/3 of the book was a lot cleaner and smoother than the last 2/3. Another round of editing and some cutting might help. Also I was confused by the “Christian” tag on it since nothing in the text concerned faith.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
