Coveting the Mafia King's Sister by P. Rayne
3.0
3/5⭐️
———ARC Review———
This book had an interesting premise and could have been great, but it sort of fell flat. Mafia academy type books never seem to do good in my eyes because it feels kinda…immature I guess? I don’t know the right word for it, but I just didn’t like how they would go to “how to embezzle money” class, like to me it just seems weird. I have yet to find a book that does mafia academy well, and I do think it can be done well.
Now, there were some things I enjoyed, such as the characters (main and side characters) and plot twists. I think the author did those things well and I did not see the plot twist coming, but now everything makes sense. It was tied together very well. However, there some issues I had with the characters.
There were some pretty big issues between the MCs that were never resolved that could have broken them up, but Aria just forgot about them after they proclaimed their love. I like Aria, but she was kind of a pushover. Like she just trusted Gabriele with everything, no matter how much her gut told her not to. She had some rebellion in the beginning, but it kind of died out. Then there were some side characters that were major to the plot it the beginning, but were never showed in the end. I kinda forgot they were there, until I was reminded writing this review.
That being said, if you are a fan of the Kingmakers series by Sophie Lark, then you should give this book a try.
