There are a great many things I appreciated about this book
There was such an air of whimsy and magic that I felt like made me believe in magic in the world
Could the author have done it better? Do I just think the author could've done it better?
Maybe I'm too used to reading horror and mystery that slower paced magical worlds require a different headspace as a reader.
I think thats what I felt throughout the book, that I was reading it wrong and that I was somehow not getting everything out of it? Maybe?
I think this needed the type of reading where one approached it slowly and with thought and allowed it to build a world in one's head. And maybe I just didn't really do that
Maybe this was the kind of book where it needs the right timing to really appreciate it (
a major theme in the book being timing this feels right
)
I think I might reread it at some point hopefully it being a better time

I still really enjoyed it, but in an analytical way. The characters had depth and layers. The plot was clever and the writing was engaging

I'm looking forward to enjoying it in a magical way
