Who Fears Death by Nnedi Okorafor
5.0
The only reason it took me five days to finish this is because I had to go to work and barely have two hours for reading in a day.
This is like nothing I've read before, and half the time I've either got my mouth open or gritting my teeth during tense moments. I love the background, the setting, the very, very flawed characters, and most of all the neat, concise writing and tight plotting.
I hope there's no sequel though, this works so beautifully on its own (although towards the end, it really looked like it was gearing up for a cliffhanger).
