I loved how many "classic" romcom tropes were flipped on its head here in a way that made my reading experience of it all so fresh and exciting; the writing is strong and able to support both Wood's narrative and her unique ensemble of characters (who are all well-developed in their own right)— I laughed out loud multiple times and found there was a near-perfect balance between that great sense of humor & some of the more serious parts of the novel. Overall, UNDER YOUR SPELL is funny, clever, sassy, and honestly quite cute (aka the perfect combo for any and all romance lovers) - it's easily one of my top favorite romcoms of this year, and I'm excited to see what Wood comes out with next!
