This is a story the leads to the big earthquake in San Francisco of 1906 and involves 4 women whose lives are so different and what they have in common is Henry Thornton. The story was told mainly by Suling and Gemma's perspective and how they worked to solve the mystery of what happened to their friend Nellie. You really get to each women well with their struggles and desires and how Henry played a part in each of their lives. The story was so well researched and you could feel the vibrancy of Chinatown back then and the struggles for an Asian. This story has so many twists and turns leading up to the big earthquake and so many with dealing with the aftermath as well.
Saskia Maarleveld and Katherine Chin both did a great job with the narration.
