This book focuses on toxic relationships and tackles a lot on loneliness. The main character meets this man who she immediately falls in love with and starts a relationship with, though he is always gaslighting her and emailing his ex girlfriend.
The main character recognises that she no longer has control over herself and chooses to find other lovers to fill the void. She gets into other poorly relationships that bring her up as fast as they bring her down.
I think the book is quite clever, though it’s a little draggy and over time it makes me lose interest in the book. While I felt bad for her I couldn’t empathise with her state. I didn’t understand fully what the book is about and I’m not sure if it’s just a me thing or the book’s problem but I’m pretty sure a lot of the nuances are lost on me.
Had some nice writing, but just wasn’t engaging enough for me.
