I really struggled getting into this book. Maybe it's because I haven't read Alice in Wonderland, only seen various adaptations, but this book and the way it was written just didn't work for me. I couldn't connect to the story in its third-person format the way I would have liked. It also just felt too far detached from what I know of the source material. And usually that's not a bad thing, but in the case of this book, it didn't work for me.
