“I Who Have Never Known Men” is well-written feminist speculative fiction, but it’s not a very enjoyable or engaging read. I can see why some readers fell in love with this story as it artfully explores truths about humanity. I needed it to be shorter, like the length of a short story, or to have a faster pace. Its pace lulled me to boredom, though I can appreciate its reflective, calming nature that’s unusual in dystopian literature.
