The Suitcase Clone by Robin Sloan

adventurous lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

I think Robin Sloan may actually be the only author of which I'd call myself a true fan. Having read his other work, this quirky little story is so Robin Sloan. I think it perfectly achieves its goal of tying together or giving new perspective on the themes in his work.

The mysterious systems out there that people have created, artisans and innovation, how there's life in the world around us through past and through present creations, what has always been there and what has been meticulously crafted. Those different layers of life and the world around us and what's solid and what's dynamic and evolving. I have a hard time putting it into words, but when I read his work I feel it. It really resonates with me. I'll always be excited to read some more.
